As an athlete, I strive to inspire those around me to discover and appreciate the importance of connection health and fitness.
Having been raised in Czech Republic, I was never into sport, used to be the smallest in the class and hence dreamt about being big. I started to practice fitness in my early age first only with my body weigh. Nowadays I know it was not such a bad idea and this led me step by step to the gym while on college in 1996, where I finally touched iron. Only back then I completely understood meaning of the word “kalokagathia” – the connection of spirit and body and I realized that this was what I wanted to devote to all my future life to. I started to soak all the information about bodybuilding and nutrition and it started to be the only thing I kept thinking of an obsession you might say. At that time bodybuilding learned me something really important, how consistent I would be in anything in my life such a result I could expect. Let´s say you are getting ready for competition, you can cheat on your diet only once, you can skip only one training and you could see with your own eyes the very next day how your form is ruined. And competing was something I did not even think of, however there came time I decided to go on stage for the first time. I placed second and next competitions followed. I became first three times in a row and at the international level ended on third place.
My next prep for competition was disrupted by an injury of my back. My physio did not help and I realized it did not even suppose to. Self-help was the only option, so I decided to join the best school for personal training in my country.
Yes, I realised all I did till that point was wrong and had to start from scratch including breathing. And yes I did not like it, wanted to quit with all the fitness addiction. But how can you quit addiction just like that? I worked my way up again, this time with all the things I should consider within the training and guess what, without any pain. At first I did the school only for one reason – to help myself. I did not have any intention of training people, however as my “master” Mr. Petr Tlapak said – you should be the light in the darkness. That explains also the name of this blog – HELLFITNESS, because what I see in gyms is sometimes hell for me. So since the year 2008 I started to actively advise other fitness “addicted” people with diet plans and training schedules. First only in my free time, later as a full time job on the cruise ship, where I learned so many new things I fell in love with and introduced them not only to my health seminars I presented but also to my lifestyle. I started to teach joga, pilates as well as spinning. I could have never imagined myself doing any of these, but here I am, in love with all these things.
I have had the opportunity to work with a multitude of clients, all who have goals unique to them and their perspective of fitness.
I used to be blind in the past. Did not want to listen to advises around me, until my pay off. This blog is for all the people, who love fitness to that point, that they want to do it not only couple of years, but as long as they can. Imagine doing your squats in the way I see it every day in the gym and scrub your cartridge so much, that you won´t be able to walk not speaking about squatting. Imagine doing the dead lifts in the way which hurts me only to watch and not being able even to bend over later in your life.
This blog is about WHY, because you should always ask this question, whenever anybody is giving you some of those “bro” advises. What would be their answer if you would ask them this simple annoying question on anything they would tell you? Most likely they would point over to somebody else saying, he told me. This blog is also about YOU contributing with your knowledge, so everybody can take what they want, however if you will contribute, be prepared for WHY?
